Because we see a need for it.

IME has been created in response to what has been observed in the lives of teens in this modern age. We understand the challenges and confusion that young people may face - we were teens once ourselves - and looking back, wish there was a space available to support this time in our lives.

So, we created one.

Why mindfulness and meditation?

As described by the Mindful Awareness Research Center, mindfulness is not only a meditation technique but also a state of being. This state of being is noted to have a direct positive influence on one’s mental and physical health and general wellbeing.

A growing body of evidence suggests mindfulness and meditation supports flourishing – which can be described as living within an optimal range of human functioning, one that includes goodness, growth, and resilience.
